Although predictors of violent relationships have been identified, we are only beginning to understand the day-to-day dynamics of domestic violence. The objective of this study was to identify commonly seen patterns and strings of consecutive days involving verbal or physical abuse, and their preceding and subsequent events. Adult women (n=20) seen in a primary care clinic who experienced violence within the past month were enrolled. Subjects completed a daily telephone assessment of household environment and marital relationship for two months using Interactive Verbal Response (IVR). Results were analyzed using orbital decomposition, an analytic technique based on symbolic dynamics, in which categorical time series data are used to identify recurrent patterns of strings and quantify their complexity. While days without abuse had varied patterns involving arguments, stress levels, daily hassles, husband's alcohol intake, and sense of closeness (27 unique patterns), days involving verbal or physical abuse included a narrower range of patterns (15 patterns for verbal and 16 patterns for physical abuse). Daily patterns appear to cluster in triplets (3 consecutive days) of activity and show nonlinearity with triplets involving verbal abuse and triplets involving physical violence. Triplets involving either verbal or physical abuse were associated with arguments and high stress, but differed in the consistency of association with hassles, alcohol intake, and closeness. Finally, physical and verbal abuse tended to self-propagate. However, days involving verbal abuse did not precede days involving physical violence. In conclusions, while patterns of violence and household environments followed a nonlinear trajectory, only a limited set of patterns were observed. Although violence led to more violence, verbal abuse did not necessarily lead to physical aggression. In this paper,we consider a set of new symmetries in the SM:diagonal reflection symmetries Rmu,v*,R=mu,v,md,e*=mde with R=diag(-1,1,1).These generalized CP symmetries predict the Majorana phases to beα2.3/2-0π/2.Realization of diagonal reflection symmetries implies a broken chiral U(1)po symmetry only for the first generation.The axion scale is suggested to be(θu,d)~△GuT√mu,dm_(c,s)/v-1012[GeV].By combining the symmetries with the four-zero texture,the mass eigenvalues and mixing matrices of quarks and leptons are reproduced well.This scheme predicts the normal hierarchy,the Dirac phase ocp≈203°,and|ml|≈2.5 or 6.2[meV].In this scheme,the type-I seesaw mechanism and a given neutrino Yukawa matrix Yycompletely determine the structure of the right-handed neutrino mass MR.A u-y unification predicts the mass eigenvalues to be(MRI,MR2,MR3)=(O(105).O(109),O(1014)[Gev]. 相似文献

Various nanosized zinc aluminate(ZnAl2O4) samples were prepared by a conventional and a mi- crowave method both with and without using Opuntia dilenii haw plant extract,and were charac- terized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),high resolution scanning electron microscopy(HRSEM),energy dispersion scanning(EDX),temperature dependent conductance measurements, thermoelectric power measurements, ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) diffuse reflectance spectroscopy,and photoluminescence spectroscopy.The formation of a pure ZnAl2O4 phase was confirmed by XRD and FT-IR.A change in morphology from nanosized plates to nanosized sheets with,respectively,the conventional and microwave heating methods was clearly shown by HRSEM.UV-Vis diffusion reflectance spectroscopy measured the band gaps of ZnAl2O4 nanosized plates and nanosized sheets as 3.5 and 3.9 eV,respectively.The synthesized ZnAl2O4 was single crystalline and has three photoluminescence emissions at 482,528,and 540 nm.ZnAl2O4 nanosized sheets prepared by the microwave method showed higher catalytic activity for the oxida- tion of benzyl alcohol(85% conversion) than ZnAl2O4 nanosized plates prepared by the convention- al method(60% conversion). 相似文献

A methodology for kinetic modeling of conversion processes is presented.The proposed approach allows to overcome the lack of molecular detail of the petroleum fractions and to simulate the reactions of the process by means of a two-step procedure.In the first step,a synthetic mixture of molecules representing the feedstock is generated via a molecular reconstruction method,termed SR-REM molecular reconstruction.In the second step,a kinetic Monte Carlo method,termed stochastic simulation algorithm(SSA),is used to simulate the effect of the conversion reactions on the mixture of molecules.The resulting methodology is applied to the Athabasca vacuum residue hydrocracking.An adequate molecular representation of the vacuum residue is obtained using the SR-REM algorithm.The reaction simulations present a good agreement with the laboratory data for Athabasca vacuum residue conversion.In addition,the proposed methodology provides the molecular detail of the vacuum residue conversion throughout the reactions simulations. 相似文献

Introducing various pendant functional groups and building blocks of interest to polypeptides in a highly efficient, controlled manner is crucial to access polypeptide materials with desired structures and functions. In this study, we synthesized γ-(4-vinylbenzyl)-(L)-glutamate N-carboxyanhydride (VB-Glu-NCA), which was readily obtained and purified in large quantity. VB-Glu-NCA monomer was subsequently used for the synthesis of polypeptides containing conjugation-amenable, pendant vinyl functional groups. Controlled, living polymerizations of VB-Glu-NCA were achieved by using hexamethyldisilazane (HMDS) as the initiator, catalytic amounts of 1,5,7-triazabicyclo[4.4.0]dec-5-ene (TBD) as the co-catalyst, and nitrobenzene as the inhibitor of radical-induced side reactions on the vinyl group of VB-Glu-NCA.
